My favorite show is Psych.
The character I most relate to is the main character, Shawn Spencer. Much of Shawn's life revolved around the idea of "fun". He would take jobs that seemed fun and then leave them once the fun was over. He had plenty of nonsense jobs in his younger years. This is something that I can echo. I took jobs because they were fun as well. I nannied rich children who lived on the lake which really just consisted of hanging out with kids and taking them to do fun things like go on boat rides or to movies or horseback ridign. I made soap. I acted at the renaissance fair. I fitted corsets, also at the renaissance fair. I was a camp counselor. I was a camp director. I judged high school and college forensics tournaments, and still do on occasion. The main drawn for all of these jobs was that I was both interested in doing them, and they seemed fun. They were.
Shawn is attention-seeking and enjoys having an audience. I am the same way which really works out as students are my captive audience. :) He is also eccentric. Check. Outgoing. Check. And, he is usually accompanied by a friend. Check. He talks a bit more than he needs to. Check. Also, he seems to disregard the severity of serious situations which can result in a bit of a mess. I do this, but not in the same way. I sometimes don't realize something is serious until it is a bit out of control. If I did realize it sooner, I would take it seriously.
I think that Shawn's defining characteristics are his silliness and his intelligence. I like to think I am both of these things, usually in a good balance. I love life and fun is a driving force behind that. I find being serious all of the time to be tiring. I also enjoy learning so much that I am always taking classes, pursuing knowledge and looking to master a new subject area by getting a new degree. I also like to share knowledge with others, which helps me in my chosen career field.
